Are You Trying Too Hard to Hear Your Angels?

Are You Trying Too Hard to Hear Your Angels?

August 17, 20267 min read

In 1977, Andy Gibb released the song I Just Want to Be Your Everything.

For more than 30 years, whenever that song came on the radio, I happily sang along.

There was just one little problem.

There was one line in the song that never made any sense to me.

For all those years, I thought Andy Gibb was singing:

"Not subsubit on a ring."

What does that mean?

I had absolutely no idea!

About 15 years ago, I was driving when the song came on the radio. As usual, I began singing along, and when I got to that line, out came:

"Not subsubit on a ring..."

This time, however, I stopped.

Without really thinking about it, I said:

"Angels, what does 'not subsubit on a ring' mean?"

Immediately, I heard the answer inside my head, very clearly and matter-of-factly, one word at a time:

"Not. Some. Puppet. On. A. String."

I started laughing hysterically.

Once the Angels gave me the actual words, I couldn't believe I had been singing them incorrectly for more than 30 years.

Come on..."Not subsubit on a ring?"

Really? LOL!

But as funny as that experience was, it also taught me several important lessons about communicating with the Angels and Archangels.

First: I received the answer through Clairaudience.

As we discussed last week, Clairaudience means Clear Hearing.

In this particular experience, I didn't hear a physical voice coming through the car.

I heard the words very clearly within my own head—but they didn't sound like my own thoughts or my own voice.

They simply arrived.

Clear.

Direct.

Matter-of-fact.

That's one of the ways clairaudience can work.

Second: I wasn't trying to receive an answer.

This is one of the most important parts of the story.

I hadn't sat down to meditate.

I wasn't concentrating really hard.

I wasn't wondering:

"Am I hearing them yet?"

"Was that the Angels?"

"Am I doing this correctly?"

I simply asked the question... and allowed.

Because I wasn't trying to make something happen, my analytical mind didn't have much opportunity to jump in and interfere.

And the answer came immediately.

This is something I've noticed repeatedly when teaching people how to communicate with the Angels and Archangels.

Sometimes we try so hard to receive that we actually get in our own way.

We may already have an idea of what communication with the Archangels is supposed to look like, sound like, or feel like.

And while we're waiting for that particular experience...

we may overlook the message they're already giving us.

But what if I hadn't heard the answer?

Let's go back to my Andy Gibb example.

Suppose I asked:

"Angels, what does 'not subsubit on a ring' mean?"

And then immediately started thinking about something else.

Did I miss my only opportunity to receive the answer?

Not at all.

As I've shared before, I've found that Divine Guidance is repetitive.

The Angels will meet us where we are and continue finding ways to bring a message into our awareness.

So perhaps later I would suddenly know I should look up the lyrics.

That could involve Claircognizance—Clear Knowing.

I might simultaneously experience a persistent feeling that I really needed to look them up.

That could involve Clairsentience—Clear Feeling.

But let's say I ignored both.

No problem.

Perhaps the next day, someone at work is printing song lyrics for a team-building karaoke event.

I walk over to the printer... and sitting right on top of the pile are the lyrics to I Just Want to Be Your Everything.

My physical eyes land directly on: "Not some puppet on a string."

Now I'm receiving the message through Clairvoyance—Clear Seeing.

But what if I pick up the pages without looking at them and hand them to my colleague?

The Angels still aren't finished!

Maybe later I hear someone singing the song and, for the first time, clearly hear the correct words.

Clairaudience again.

Or perhaps I finally ask someone: "What is he actually saying there?"

And they tell me.

The answer still found its way to me.

The point isn't that every song lyric, conversation, or piece of paper is an angelic message.

The lesson is to ask, remain open, notice what repeats, and use your own discernment.

The more we allow, the easier it can become to recognize what we're receiving.

Stop Trying So Hard—and Play

This brings me to another important lesson I've learned about communicating with the Archangels.

Have fun with it.

A friend of mine once attended a spiritual event with hundreds of people.

She tried and tried to connect.

Nothing.

The harder she tried, the more frustrated she became.

Then she left the event.

She stopped trying.

And suddenly... the answers began flowing.

It was as though someone had turned on the faucet.

I've seen this happen so many times.

We get in our own way.

I remember a spiritual teacher telling her students to approach intuitive exercises as though they were simply playing.

It didn't matter whether they thought they were right or wrong.

They didn't have to prove anything.

Just play.

Have fun.

Be curious.

Once everyone relaxed and started enjoying themselves, something shifted.

Connections increased.

Messages began to flow.

Try This Archangel Exercise

This is one of the exercises I'm currently having my Archangel Mastery™ Course students practice.

Choose an Archangel and ask them to let you know they're with you by showing you something specific.

Years ago, during another class, I chose Ford Mustangs.

I asked Archangel Michael to show himself to me through a dark blue Ford Mustang and Archangel Faith through a light-to-medium blue Ford Mustang.

The first day I tried the exercise, I saw 10 blue Mustangs in approximately 30 minutes!

Was I suddenly paying greater attention to blue Mustangs because I had asked to see them?

Perhaps.

Was there something more happening?

Perhaps.

For me, the important part of the exercise isn't proving one explanation or another. It's learning to ask, pay attention, feel into the experience, notice repetition, and develop your own relationship with the Archangels.

Try it. Choose something specific. Ask. Then let it go. Don't spend the entire day searching for it.

Simply go about your life... and see what happens.

And Finally: The Angels Don't Judge Us

There's one final lesson from my Andy Gibb experience that I don't want to overlook.

The Angels didn't laugh at me.

They didn't say: "Joelle, you've been singing WHAT for 30 years?"

There was no judgment whatsoever.

Just an answer.

The Angels are not waiting for us to get everything right.

They love us.

They support us.

And they meet us exactly where we are.

The Archangels can certainly be more direct with us—especially when it comes to our life purpose and the path we're choosing—but their guidance is always rooted in love.

Some people may look at the experiences I've described and call them coincidences.

I like to call them Angel Winks.

So the next time something happens that makes you stop and wonder... "Was that a coincidence?"

Pause. Take a breath. Connect within. And perhaps ask: "Angels, was that a wink from you?"

Then don't try so hard to hear the answer. Simply... allow.

Love & Light,

Joelle St. Germaine

P.S. I had mentally planned this newsletter around my clairaudient experience with I Just Want to Be Your Everything, but before I could sit down to write it, I needed to run to the grocery store.

I got into my car, turned on the radio, and guess which song was playing?

I Just Want to Be Your Everything.

How's that for a little confirmation that this was the perfect story to share this week?

Thank you, Angels. 💜

P.S.S. If you'd like to practice communicating with the Archangels rather than simply reading about it, there's still time to join us for Archangel Mastery™ Level 1 Certification.

We're learning about the Archangels, connecting with them, receiving personal and group messages, and practicing techniques like the exercise I shared above to help you recognize their unique energies and communication.

And if you've missed our earlier classes, you'll receive the replays so you can connect with the Archangels we've already met and experience the teachings in your own perfect timing.
