Before You Ask for More, Honor What You've Already Received
Tomorrow, September 22, we welcome the Autumn Equinox—that beautiful moment of the year when day and night come into balance, and we begin our transition into a new season.
And I think it arrives at exactly the right time.
Over the past few weeks, we've been talking about courage, transcendence, emotional healing, grief, and release.
We've asked ourselves what we're ready to move beyond.
We've allowed ourselves to acknowledge what hurts.
We've begun releasing some of the emotional weight we've been carrying.
But before we rush forward and begin asking:
What's next?
I think the Autumn Equinox gives us a beautiful invitation to pause and ask something different:
What have I already received?
A Time of Harvest
For centuries, autumn has represented the harvest—the time when we gather what has grown from the seeds that were planted earlier in the year.
And while we may not all be harvesting crops, we have each been planting seeds.
Every prayer you've spoken.
Every intention you've set.
Every time you've chosen love instead of fear.
Every boundary you've created.
Every time you've listened to your intuition.
Every difficult decision you've made.
Every healing you've allowed.
Every time you've gotten back up and tried again.
Those were seeds.
And sometimes we're so focused on what hasn't manifested yet that we don't recognize what has already grown.
Perhaps the harvest doesn't look exactly the way you thought it would.
Maybe the thing you prayed for didn't arrive in the form you expected.
Maybe instead of receiving the relationship, opportunity, abundance, or answer you asked for...
you received courage.
Clarity.
Discernment.
A new direction.
A deeper connection with God.
A stronger relationship with the Archangels.
Or perhaps you discovered something about yourself that you couldn't have learned any other way.
Sometimes the harvest isn't something we can hold in our hands.
Sometimes the harvest is who we've become.
Meet Archangel Barachiel
As we talk about recognizing our harvest, I would like to introduce you to an Archangel who is new to me as well—Archangel Barachiel.
Barachiel is known as the Angel of Divine Blessings and is associated with God's grace, abundance, joy, provision, and the recognition of the blessings already present within our lives.
When we call upon Archangel Barachiel, he can help us become more receptive to the blessings God continually offers us and open our hearts to receive, recognize, and appreciate Divine blessings.
Sometimes we become so focused on what we're waiting to manifest that we overlook the blessings already surrounding us.
Barachiel can help shift our awareness from what appears to be missing toward the abundance, grace, opportunities, and Divine support already flowing into our lives.
His presence reminds us that abundance takes many forms.
A blessing may arrive as an opportunity.
A new relationship.
An inspired idea.
Unexpected assistance.
Greater peace.
Divine timing.
Financial support.
Healing.
Or simply the realization that we already possess something we once prayed to receive.
Think about that for a moment.
Is something in your life today an answer to a prayer you once prayed?
Sometimes we become so accustomed to our blessings that we forget there was a time when we were asking for exactly what we now have.
Working with Archangel Barachiel isn't simply about asking for material abundance.
He teaches us to become receptive to Divine provision in whatever form serves our highest good.
And perhaps one of the first steps in becoming more receptive is learning to recognize how much we've already received.
Before You Ask for More...
There is nothing wrong with wanting more for our lives.
There is always another dream.
Another level of healing.
Another experience.
Another opportunity to grow.
Another beautiful desire waiting to be birthed.
But sometimes we become so focused on what's next that we forget to acknowledge what is already here.
So before we move into the final months of this year, I invite you to pause.
Not to make another list of what you want to manifest.
Not yet.
First...let's acknowledge what you've already received.
Think back to who you were at the beginning of this year.
What have you learned?
What have you healed?
What have you released?
What have you survived?
Where have you become stronger?
Where have you become softer?
What do you understand now that you didn't understand then?
What unexpected blessings appeared?
Who entered your life?
What left your life—and perhaps created space for something new?
And where did Divine Guidance lead you somewhere you never expected to go?
Don't overlook the small things.
Sometimes the greatest transformations happen so gradually that we don't recognize them until we stop and look backward.
The Equinox Invites Us Back Into Balance
The Autumn Equinox also reminds us of balance.
Light and darkness.
Giving and receiving.
Doing and allowing.
Holding on and letting go.
Movement and rest.
Speaking and listening.
The spiritual journey isn't about remaining on one side of these experiences.
It's about learning to move between them consciously.
And perhaps there is an area of your life right now that is asking to be brought back into balance.
Have you been giving without allowing yourself to receive?
Doing without resting?
Speaking without listening?
Holding on when something is asking to be released?
Or perhaps waiting and allowing when your soul is actually asking you to take action?
Balance doesn't necessarily mean giving everything equal amounts of our time and energy.
Sometimes balance simply means recognizing what needs more of us right now—and what needs less.
Experiencing the Autumn Equinox with the Archangels
Tomorrow, or sometime this week, find a quiet place where you can spend a few minutes reflecting.
If possible, go outside.
Feel the Earth beneath you.
Notice the air.
Notice the light.
Notice whatever nature is showing you.
Then invite your Archangels to surround you.
You may want to call upon the Archangels we've been connecting with throughout September, along with Zadkiel, Holy Amethyst, and Barachiel:
Archangel Ariel — to help you recognize the courage you've discovered within yourself and where you're being called to live more authentically.
Archangels Anankiel and Aquariel — to help you recognize what you've transcended and to bring greater emotional healing, tranquility, and balance.
Archangels Azrael and Magdalena — to help you honor what has ended, lovingly release the pain you no longer need to carry, and open your heart to renewal.
Archangels Zadkiel and Amethyst — to surround you with the Violet Ray and assist with transformation, benevolence, and blessings as you release what has completed its purpose and prepare for what comes next.
And Archangel Barachiel — to help you recognize the Divine blessings already present in your life and become more receptive to the abundance, joy, provision, grace, and blessings continuing to flow to you.
Imagine all of these beautiful Archangels surrounding you.
Then ask: "What am I harvesting from this season of my life?"
Don't try to manufacture an answer.
Remember...Ask. Allow. Notice.
Perhaps a memory will surface.
Maybe you'll suddenly recognize a lesson.
You may hear a word.
See an image.
Feel an emotion.
Or simply know.
Then ask: "What blessings in my life have I stopped noticing?"
Allow Barachiel to help you look at your life through a different lens.
Notice what is already there.
And finally ask: "What in my life is asking to be brought into greater balance?"
Then listen again.
An Autumn Equinox Prayer of Gratitude
Beloved Father/Mother/God, Angels, Archangels, and Divine Beings of Light,
Thank you for walking beside me through every experience that has brought me to this moment.
Thank you for the prayers I recognize as answered and for the answers I may not yet understand.
Thank you for the lessons, the healing, the transformation, the growth, the unexpected blessings, and even the experiences that challenged me to become more of who I truly AM.
Beloved Archangel Ariel, help me recognize the courage that has grown within me and guide me in courageously honoring my TRUE Self.
Beloved Archangels Anankiel and Aquariel, help me recognize what I have transcended and bring my emotions and energy into greater peace, tranquility, and balance.
Beloved Archangels Azrael and Magdalena, help me honor what has ended, release the pain I no longer need to carry, and lovingly open my heart to renewal.
Beloved Archangels Zadkiel and Amethyst, surround me with the Violet Ray and assist me with transformation, benevolence, and blessings as I release what has completed its purpose.
Beloved Archangel Barachiel, open my heart to recognize, receive, and appreciate the Divine blessings already surrounding me. Help me become more receptive to Divine provision in whatever form serves my highest and most good.
Help me recognize the harvest already present within my life.
Show me where greater balance is needed and guide me in lovingly restoring it.
Help me release what has completed its purpose while carrying forward the love, wisdom, and gifts it has given me.
As I enter this new season, may I do so with gratitude for where I have been, presence for where I AM, and trust in where I am being Divinely guided.
And so it is.
Your Harvest May Be You
As you move through this Equinox, don't measure your year only by what you've accomplished.
Look at who you've become.
Look at the courage you've found.
The boundaries you've created.
The forgiveness you've offered.
The things you've finally released.
The transformations you've experienced.
The times you trusted your intuition.
The moments you asked for Divine Guidance—and actually listened.
The times you chose differently because you knew differently.
And don't forget to notice the blessings that have become such a normal part of your life that you may no longer recognize them as blessings.
You are part of the harvest.
So before you ask for the next thing...
before you begin planning the next chapter...
before you decide where you need to go from here...
take a moment to look around at everything that has already grown.
Look at what you've received.
Look at what you've become.
And perhaps, with Barachiel beside you, recognize something today that you once prayed would someday be yours.
Then simply say:
Thank you.
Love & Light,
Joelle St. Germaine
P.S. I'd love to hear about your harvest. Hit reply and tell me one blessing you've received, healed, learned, released, or become this year that you're grateful for today. And perhaps ask yourself: What do I have today that I once prayed for?
P.S.S. One of the things I've loved about the Archangel Mastery™ course is introducing everyone not only to familiar Archangels, but also to beautiful Archangels they may never have worked with before—including Archangel Barachiel. We're learning how to recognize their unique energies, connect with them, receive their guidance, and discover how they can assist us through the many different seasons of our lives.
